Yin (Deep Stretch)
Yin yoga is a deep stretch class that goes beyond the muscles to target the connective tissue. Each class typically targets a specific area of the body.
Yin poses use support such as blocks, blankets, and bolsters to allow for longer hold times. A consistent practice can restore elasticity, improve joint mobility, increase circulation, and stimulate hydration to the tissues.
Yin Yoga can be used as an active recovery day as well as an active approach to seated meditation.
Yin yoga is appropriate for all levels of practitioner but is not recommended for women after their first trimester of pregnancy.
